Hello, dear. I'm so glad you stopped by to sit with me a while.

Obituary

Margaret Rose Thompson, 81, of Prescott, Arizona, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 15, 1942, in Cottonwood, Arizona, and from her earliest years she carried a warmth that others remembered for the rest of their lives.

A graduate of Mingus Union High School and Northern Arizona University, Margaret devoted thirty-five years to teaching elementary school in the Prescott Unified School District. Generations of students knew her simply as Mrs. T, and many credit her with the moment they first believed in themselves.

She is survived by her children, David Thompson and Jennifer Martinez; five grandchildren; and her sister, Dorothy Williams of Sedona. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Robert Thompson, in 2019.

"Mrs. T was my third grade teacher in 1985, and she changed the course of my life. When I struggled with reading, she stayed after school with me every day for months and never once gave up on me. I am a reading specialist now. I think of her constantly."
